On 27 Nov 2015, Mater Project Management in Construction (MPM) was successfully organized the Opening Ceremony of MPM 2nd batch at Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar with the presence of the respective guest Minister of Ministry of Construction (MOC), Mr. Kyaw Lwin, and Dr. Hadikusumo, program coordinator from AIT, current MPM1 students and new MPM2 participants.

Mr. Kyaw Lwin, Minister of MOC, apperciated the contribution of AIT for the developing of high quality human resource of MOC. Fund for development of MOC will have reservation on training and there will be some staffs will pursue PhD program after Master degree in near future. He also believes for the successsful of MPM program in Myanmar.

Mr. Kyaw Linn, Permanent Serectary of MOC, said: "MPM program is very useful, all professors are very willing to contribute us the knowledge and experience during the class, ..." They achieved very good knowledge and will apply soon for Myanmar country. On behalf of current students, he would like to acknowledge to Dr. Hadikusmo, Dr. Chotchai, and all MPM profesors for their devoted instruction.

Dr. Hadikusumo expressed his appreciation to the support of MOC for the success of MPM1 program in Myanmar. He was impressed with the hard-working attitude of MPM1 students. They all would take the final defense the day after and if can fulfill all graduated requirements, they will attend the Graduation Ceremony, will be held at AIT Bangkok Thailand on 16 Dec 2015. Dr. Hadikusumo delivered his welcome speech to MPM2 students also.

The new students come from Ministry of Construction and private sectors with number of 22. The program takes 14 months with two international fieldtrips, one trip to AIT-Bangkok and other to one developed country to help participants strengthen the exchange of international project management experience with foreign people and experts in the global perspective.

MPM Tennis Tournament and MPM Gathering in Hanoi 2015

40 alumni and students joined Annual Dual-Match MPM Tennis Tournament last Sunday, 22 Nov 2015 with the presence of Assoc. Prof. BHW. Hadikusumo – CEIM/MPM Coordinator and Assoc. Prof. Chotchai Charoenngam – CEIM/MPM faculty. The friendship competition ended after 240 minutes with lots of emotion of 16 players and the supporters: excited, tense and much of fun.


The magnificent shot of final match result (6-0) has set the championship to the perfect teamwork of Mr. Bui Cong Luan – MPM/CEIM Hanoi 3 and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh – MPM Hanoi 6, the 1st Runner-up awarded to Mr. Tran Quang Nhat – MPM Hanoi 5 and Mr. Le Thanh Luong – MPM Hanoi 8 while the 2nd Runner-up went to 2 couples: Mr. Nguyen Minh Hien – MPM Hanoi 4 and Mr. Hoang Thanh Son – MPM Hanoi 8; Mr. Le Dang Thuc – CEIM/MPM Vung Tau 1 and Mr. Pham Dinh Dung – MPM Hanoi 7. 


The activity also marks the wonderful performance of 2 beautiful MPM alumni ladies Ms. Le Thi Thanh Ha – MPM Hanoi 5 and Ms. Ngo Hoai An – MPM Hanoi 6 cum MPM Hanoi Alumni Club President who both got the stylist prize for their effort and sport spirit. Dr. BHW.Hadikusumo and Dr. Chotchai Charoenngam in turn give the award to the winners. Big congratulations to all the winners and players!


The networking party took place following by the tennis tournament in order to cheer-up the success of the activity. This is also a get-together chance to exchange recent life and career experience among all MPM family members.

AITVN 25th anniversary

Towards AIT Viet Nam 25th Anniversary” on 24 October 2015, in Ho Chi Minh City

On 24 October 2015, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT Vietnam) solemnly organized its “Towards AIT Viet Nam 25th Anniversary” with the theme “The Great Talent – The High Success”and the Annoucement of “AIT Vietnam Silver Scholarship Program” of USD 1.4 millions for full Master Degrees at AIT Thailand, to be awarded to Vietnamese students during 2015 – 2018. The Anniversary is to celebrate the partnerships with the Government of Vietnam, nearly 4000 AIT Alumni in Vietnam and others partners which have helps AIT to be successful over the past nearly 25 years.



 Attending the anniversary were representative of Vietnamese Government, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science & Technology (MoST), High Excellency Pham Dai Duong, representative of Thailand Government, General-Consul, High Excellency Panpimon Suwannapongse, distinguished AIT Alumni including Prof. Bui Cach Tuyen, formal Vice Minister of Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment, Prof. Huynh Ngoc Phien, Chairman of AMATA Vietnam, Dr. Khuat Viet Hung, Vice Chairman of Vietnam’s National Traffic Safety Committee, also Prof. Nguyen Cong Thanh, formal Director of AIT Vietnam, AIT Program Coordinators/ Faculty Dr. Hadi Kusumo, Dr. Pham Huy Giao and a huge number of leaders from corporations, companies and AIT Alumni in Vietnam.

The Vice Minister valued the AIT Vietnam Silver Scholarship Program for building management capacity of professionals of Ministries, Departments or agencies of Vietnam and other partners.

Site visit to Japan 2015

International fieldtrip of Project Management in Construction program to Japan - 2015

AIT Project Management in Construction program was successfully organized an fiedltrip to Japan for MPM students in HCMC and Hanoi during 06 - 12 September 2015.

Students had a very fruitful time to visit on-going and completed projects to Kajima Corporation, Nikken Sekkei Research Institute and CTI Engineering Co., Ltd. They approached professional project management and valued experience sharing.

AIT offers Professional Master in Project Management in Construction in Vietnam (HCM, HANOI, CANTHO and VUNGTAU)


In Vietnam, Asian Institute of Technology ( http://www.set.ait.ac.th/ceim or http://www.aitcv.ac.vn ) is offering a very innovative program called Professional Master in Project Management in Construction (in short, MPM). 2nd International fieldtrip of Project Management in Construction program to Australia

AIT Project Management in Construction program was successfully organized an fiedltrip to Australia for MPM students in Myanmar during 28 June to 05 July 2015. 

This trip allowed students to experience the world and the global community, as well as networking opportunities with goverment organization and popular construction companies there. 
Program was designed for 3 official visits and sightseeing time at 3 big cities of Australia including Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. 
The first meeting with Transport for New South Wales (NSW) to learn how the goverment organization manages construction projects constructed by the contractors, brought many fruitful experience in public section. Goverment officers were sharing about how NSW goverment build, manage, and operate public infrastructure system for NSW.
The 2nd visit is the Barangaroo South construction site in Sydney, Australia. and the 3rd one is visit to Head Office of Meinhardt Co. and their project at Mariott Pier One hotel at Sydney.

International fieldtrip to AIT Main Campus
Thailand, 1-8 April 2015

Construction, Engineering and Infrastructure Managemnent (CEIM)
Project Management on Construction (MPM)

Over 90 students of MPM program in Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi) and in Myanmar and CEIM in AIT Thailand gathered at AIT main campus in Thailand during 1-8 April 2015.

During the time, they attended Applied Project Management courses delivered by field experts from the U.S, and Thailand, including:
- Applied Project Management in High-rise building projects
- Applied Project Management in Commmercial projects
- Applied Project Management in Petrochemical projects
- Applied Project Management in Housing and Real-Estate projects

They also experienced international management through the three site visits in: 
- Pruksa Precast factory
- Pruksa Precast Building Project
- MRT Purple Line (Bangyai-Bangsue)

This study tour brought more opportunity for international students to expand networking in international construction industry.  


The students in Construction Engineering and Infrastructure Management at AIT (wearing black) were joined by students in Professional Master's Program in Project Management (MPM) from Vietnam (wearing orange) and the inaugurated batch of MPM from Myanmar (wearing light yellow) during their study tour at AIT.
