MPM Opening and Orientation in Vietnam, intake 2017
Welcome MPM students to new intake MPM11 in HCMC and MPM10 in Hanoi, 2017.
MPM organized the opening ceremony and orientation for MPM11 in HCMC and MPM10 in Hanoi for their new school year 2017. This opportunity created an opportunity for new students, alumni and faculty to meet and share together. MPM network is more bigger and bigger with the participation of MPM alumni and students from many owners, contractors, project management and consultant companies and others, both public and private sectors.

The 2nd International fieldtrip - Master in Project Management in Construction

Despite a long queue at Charles de Gaulle Airport (Paris), continual traffic jams and bad weather, Europe was still beautiful with magnificent romantic scenery and friendly citizens. Thanks to the partner companies, construction site visits were successfully held.
In Bremen (Germany), home of Grimms’ fairy tales, also known as London of Germany because of the fog and the beauty, the group visited and worked at Hoschule Bremen, City University of Applied Science, located in the heart of Bremen Neustadt – a central city location, andenjoyed a long tradition that went back to 1799. The group met, discussed, shared experiences with Head of School and professors of Structural Engineering, Project Management in Construction, and took a tour around the university.

The group visited and studied at construction site projects such as: Hafentunnel Bremerhaven; Elbphiharmonie (apartment part) in Hamburg where G20 Summit joining by 20 world’s largest economies has been taking place,City Palace and Opera House Berlin.
MPM students were so excited about their experiences as they had opportunities to discuss with the professors and experts from developed countries.

BIM Adoption and Application in Vietnam and Thailand

AIT Professional Master program in Project Management in Construction (MPM) in collaboration with BIM Vietnam Community organized the seminar: "BIM Adoption and Application in Vietnam and Thailand", last 27th May 2017 in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam. There were over 100 participants who are working in construction inductry joined the seminar. Two main speakers: Mr. Nguyen Khuu Trong Luat, BIM Manager of Coteccons and Mr. Grit Ngowtanasuwan, from Thailand. Coteccons is the most reputation contractor in Vietnam and also a pioneer to apply BIM in Design & Build projects. This is main contractor for Landmark 81 project, one of top 10 highest buildings in the wolrd.
Seminar is succesful with the enthusiam participating of construction professionals from both public and private sectors. They raised many questions related to BIM and interested in the topic.
BIM is currently more and more public in Vietnam and all over the world. As our mission, we try to provide more academic events and activities to support the sustainable development of construction community in Vietnam.

CEIM International study visit to HCMC, Vietnam
Construction, Engineering and Infrastructure Management (CEIM)
Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand
AIT successfully organized an international study visit for CEIM to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam during 08 - 10 May 2017. There are 45 students from Thailand, Myanmar, Srilanka, and India. They joined 2 site visits:
1. Estella Heights project, Keppel Land is owner, COFICO is the main contractor that using BIM for whole projects.
2. Lucky Palace projects from contractor AGC, also using BIM for that project.

Comprehensively and professionally, sites owner presented about BIM system using for the projects, starting from the designing to the building. CEIM students gained a lot of practical knowledge by visiting actual construction sites and listening to the presentation there.

Besides, representative from Coteccons, BIM Manager, delivered a presentation about BIM application for D&B contractors in Vietnam. This broadened their minds about the development of constructional industry in Vietnam as well as provided practical knowledge and experience. BIM now becomes a powerful tools and necessary for the development of constructional contractors and owners.
This trip is a compulsory activity for CEIM students. Meanwhile, MPM students will participate in a fieldtrip in Thailand.

Last 22nd Apr 2017 in Hanoi and 23rd Apr 2017 in HCMC, Master Project Management in Construction (MPM) successfully organized the expert seminar - Claim Management and Dispute Resolution for Mega projects - with the participations of over 60 participants from many companies, both private and public sectors such as the PMU for Urban Railways, NPJT Associations, Cofico, Hoa Binh Co., ...
Ms. Sarsinatt, guest speaker, has over fifteen of experience in project management, claim and delay analysis, project CPM programming and resolution of international construction disputes in the United States, Qatar, Malaysia, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates. There projects include large infrastructure projects such as the Big Dig Project in Boston, Massachusetts, various GSA Office Buildings and a U.S. Courthouse in Islip New York, the Dubai Metro Project and the New Doha International Airport, Doha, Qatar.
She is currently working for Quantum International Consulting Ltd. Her current role is reviewing and assessing Contractor claims for the MRTC/NMC-Gamuda on the Line 1 - PMRTLK SBK Alignment. The project consists of 41.5km of elevated civil works, 31 stations, 9.5km underground tunnels, 2 no. Depots, and 11 multistory parking garages.

Construction is a dispute-prone industry. Even successful projects can create a dispute among project participants. This seminar aims to increase awareness and abilities to prevent construction disputes from happening and then resolve them professionally and timely when they arise. Attendees will gain a better understanding of the key elements of claim prevention and resolution that have been widely used and accepted in the international standard.
During seminar, guest speaker shared about overview of Construction Claim Management, Role of Claim Consultant, Use of CPM Schedule to Measure Project Delays, Construction Claim Prevention and Resolution Key Success Factors.

AIT 1st International fieldtrip,
Professional Master program in Project Management in Construction (MPM)
MPM Myanmar and Vietnam
During 04-12 March 2017, MPM program successfully organized the 1st international fieldtrip for students from Myanmar and Vietnam came to AIT campus Thailand. They had chance to stay at our main green campus and gathered together with students who are stuying in AIT Thailand, Master program in Construction, Engineering and Infrastructure Management (CEIM).
Students could take Applied Project Management (PM) courses offered during the trip such as Applied PM in High-rise building projects, Housing projects, Commercial projects, and Power Plants projects. There were 3 site visits to Pruksa Precast factory, Plant housing project of Pruksa, and Metro Purple Line project.
